Rude Baby

Backstory:
Rude Baby was born in the gritty underbelly of New York City’s East Village in the early 2000s. The band’s members — frontwoman Bella “Rude Baby” Rizzo, guitarist Johnny “Jawbreaker” Jenkins, bassist Tommy “Two-Tone” Thompson, and drummer Ricky “Riot” Russo — met at a seedy dive bar’s open mic night, each bringing a unique sound that, when combined, created a raw, grungy explosion. Bella, the band’s fierce lead, was a punk poetess with a razor-blade wit and banshee wail; Johnny was a hard-edged rocker with a love for ear-splitting distortion; Tommy was a ska enthusiast with a funky sensibility; and Ricky was a punk purist, favoring fast, aggressive beats. Together, they formed Rude Baby, a band that would soon shake the NYC underground music scene with their unapologetic sound and blunt, provocative lyrics.

Genre: Punk Rock

Title: “Concrete Jungle Lullaby”

Full Song Lyrics:

Verse 1:
[G]On the asphalt playground, [D] babies learn to crawl,
[Em]City’s singing lullabies, [C] underneath it all.
[G]Inked skin and leather jackets [D] are our suit and tie,
[Em]This my friends, is a [C] concrete jungle lullaby.

Chorus:
[D]Rude Baby, Rude Baby, [G] take the streets tonight.
[Em]Paint your dreams on city walls, [C] in the neon light.
[D]Rude Baby, Rude Baby, [G] show them what you’ve got
[Em]In the heart of this jungle, [C] we rock non-stop.

Verse 2:
[G]Broken dreams and graffiti, [D] tell our tale,
[Em]In this city of steel, [C] our spirit will not fail.
[G]We wear our rebellion, [D] proudly on our sleeve,
[Em]In the echoes of the city, [C] we believe.

Repeat Chorus

(Final verse)
[G]So here’s to the sleepless, [D] the wild and the free,
[Em]The rebels and the dreamers, [C] who refuse to be.
[G]With our music as our weapon, [D] and passion as our guide,
[Em]This is our anthem, [C] our concrete jungle lullaby.

Testimonial: “Rude Baby isn’t just my favorite band, they’re my lifeline. Their music speaks to my soul, y’know? It’s raw, it’s real, it’s… it’s like they took all the angst and passion and noise of the city and turned it into a sonic punch in the gut. You can’t listen to a Rude Baby track and not feel something. Whether you’re rocking out to ‘Concrete Jungle Lullaby’ or slow dancing to ‘Neon Kisses’, Rude Baby makes you feel alive. And that’s why they’ll always be my favorite band.”
