Backstory:
Key Deposit was born out of the vibrant music scene of Denver, Colorado, in early 2017. The band’s four members, Steven O’Reilly (vocals, guitar), Mandy Bowen (drums), Daniel Pritchard (bass) and Samantha Bloom (keyboard), were all active in different bands before deciding to collaborate. They met at a local music festival, where they discovered a shared love for intricate melodies and thought-provoking lyrics. The band’s name, Key Deposit, is a nod to their belief in the importance of investment in their music and unlocking the door to their listeners’ hearts.

Title:
“Echoes in the Hallway”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
Em G
There you go, down the hallway,
D A
Leaving echoes of our yesterdays,
Em G
Your key left, on the table,
D A
Just a token of love we used to cradle.
(Chorus)
C G D
The key deposit, a lock opened wide,
Em G D
Our hearts were once tenants, side by side,
C G D
Now empty rooms, silence amplified,
Em G D
Echoes in the hallway, where love once resided.
(Verse 2)
Em G
Our pictures still hanging, frozen in time,
D A
Silent witnesses of a love once divine,
Em G
The emptiness resonates, a deafening chime,
D A
Echoes in the hallway, your footsteps out of line.
(Chorus)
C G D
The key deposit, a love’s lease expired,
Em G D
Our hearts evicted, passion retired,
C G D
Our castle crumbles, dreams backfired,
Em G D
Echoes in the hallway, of a love desired.
(Ending)
Em G
As I pick up the key, from the table,
D A
I understand it’s time to be stable,
Em G
I close the door, as I am able,
D A
Leaving behind, the echoes in the hallway.
