Backstory:
Linear Turn is a band born out of the industrial heartland of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was in 2012, when the lead singer, Ray Wilson, a former steel mill worker, met the guitarist, Jack Davis, a mechanic. They shared a passion for music and a love for their hometown, which they felt was underrepresented in the mainstream music scene. They recruited drummer Sophie Howard and bassist Paul Mitchell from local bars where they used to perform. Since then, they have been writing and producing music that speaks to the working-class spirit of their city.
Genre:
Linear Turn’s music primarily falls in the Alternative Rock genre, infusing elements of grunge and punk rock. Their sound is characterized by gritty guitar riffs, powerful drumming, and raw, heartfelt lyrics about life, love, and the struggle of the common man.

Testimonial:
I have always been a huge fan of music, but Linear Turn is something else. Their music speaks directly to me, to my life. As a construction worker, I feel represented in their songs. Their song “Steel City Sunrise” is my anthem. It talks about the struggles of the common working man in our city, it’s like they are singing my life. The raw energy and the genuine lyrics are what make Linear Turn my favorite band. They are original, they are real, and they are Pittsburgh proud.
