Insistent Teaching

Backstory:

Insistent Teaching was born out of the bustling college town of Burlington, Vermont, when chemistry major, Jake Lewis, and English literature major, Harry Watkins, decided to turn their mutual love for music into something tangible. They began by performing at college events, soon gaining the attention of their peers with their unique sound and thoughtful songwriting. Joined by drummer, Sarah Perkins, a physics major, and bassist, Mike Griffin, a fine arts student, the band solidified their formation in 2013. Their name, Insistent Teaching, came about as a tongue-in-cheek reference to their academic backgrounds and their passion for imparting knowledge through their music.

Title:

“Chemical Reactions”

Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
C G
Just like atoms in a beaker,
Am Em
We’re lost without a guide,
C G
Swirling in the ether,
Am Em
Hoping to collide.

(Chorus)
G C
Chemical reactions inside,
Em Am
Setting our hearts on fire,
G C
Teaching us to navigate,
Em Am
In this dance of desire.

(Verse 2)
C G
Two elements in the universe,
Am Em
Drawn by a force unseen,
C G
Creating something beautiful,
Am Em
In a world that’s so serene.

(Chorus)
G C
Chemical reactions inside,
Em Am
Turning the night to day,
G C
Teaching us the rhythm,
Em Am
Of this beautiful ballet.
