Backstory:
Anguished Distinction was formed on a stormy night in the gloomy town of Salem, Massachusetts in 2007. The band’s formation was as unexpected as a lightning strike, brought together by a shared love of heavy, emotional music and a mutual feeling of being outsiders in their conservative hometown. The members, vocalist Alex “Raven” Reid, guitarist Jake “Phantom” Lawson, bassist Mike “Shadow” Monroe, and drummer Sam “Ghost” Bennett, have been through several trials and tribulations together, including numerous lineup changes and a van breakdown on their first cross-country tour, but their unwavering dedication to their craft has solidified their bond and inspired their unique sound.

The band has been widely recognized for their raw, honest lyrics and powerful performances that encapsulate the very essence of their name. Anguished Distinction’s music is a reflection of their personal struggles, the social issues they passionately advocate for, and the emotional rollercoasters they’ve ridden, all wrapped up in a sound that is as haunting as it is soothing.
