Tan Alarm

Backstory:

Tan Alarm formed in the warm, sun-soaked sands of Santa Monica, California in 2010. Friends since childhood, the trio of Dave Middleton (vocals and guitar), Sean Harris (bass) and Tim Royce (drums), bonded over their love of surfing and music. Their shared passion for creating honest, heartfelt music with a unique fusion of genres led them to form Tan Alarm. The band’s name was inspired by their shared fondness for the beach and the alarm they would set to remind themselves to reapply sunscreen to avoid getting too tan.

They spent the first few years playing in local bars and venues, honing their unique sound and building a dedicated fanbase. Their first big break came in 2013 when they were invited to play at the Santa Monica Pier Concert Series. This exposure earned them a record deal with independent label, Beachside Records.

Title:

“Sunset Serenade”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
E D
Wake up, the sun’s on the rise,
E D
We hit the surf at the morning tide.
E D
Salty air, waves crashing at our feet,
A D
Life’s a beach, can’t beat this beat.

(Chorus)
G D
Underneath the palm trees, feel the ocean breeze,
A Bm
This is our sunset serenade.
G D
With the sand as our stage, we’ll play till the break of day,
A Bm
This is our sunset serenade.

(Verse 2)
E D
The sun dips low, paints the sky,
E D
In hues of gold, as seagulls fly.
E D
Strumming chords, as the stars come out,
A D
This is what living’s all about.

(Chorus)
G D
Underneath the palm trees, feel the ocean breeze,
A Bm
This is our sunset serenade.
G D
With the sand as our stage, we’ll play till the break of day,
A Bm
This is our sunset serenade.
