Insistent Meat

Backstory:

Insistent Meat was born out of a small, offbeat burger joint in suburban Texas, where four friends and part-time employees shared a mundane day job and a flaming passion for music. The band members, Chester (on vocals and guitar), Buzzy (on bass), Rex (on drums) and Zoe (on keys), spent many late-night shifts exploring their unique musical chemistry after the restaurant closed, using their workplace as a makeshift rehearsal stage. The band’s peculiar name arose from a running joke about the persistent reminders they received from their boss about the importance of perfectly grilling the burgers.

Genre:

Insistent Meat’s genre is an addictive cocktail of indie rock and experimental blues, with a dash of Americana. Their sound is characterized by Chester’s raspy, soulful vocals, Buzzy’s funky bass lines, Rex’s tight, flawless drumming and Zoe’s exhilarating keyboard solos. Chester’s songwriting draws heavily from their humble beginnings, with lyrics often infused with clever culinary metaphors and quirky tales from the burger joint.

The band’s favorite fan:

The band’s favorite fan is a devoted follower named ‘Burger Bob’. Bob was a regular customer at the burger joint where the band first started playing. He has been a fan from their very first improvisational jam session and has attended every single gig, no matter how small or how far. Bob’s testimony sums up why Insistent Meat is his favorite band: “Insistent Meat’s music is like a perfectly grilled burger – substantial, satisfying, and soulful. Their sound is raw, their lyrics are real, and their energy is infectious. I feel connected to their journey, from flipping patties to strumming guitars, and that makes their music hit even closer to home.”
