Disgusting Stocking

Backstory:

Formed in the grungy back alleys of downtown New Haven, Connecticut, Disgusting Stocking rose from the ashes of a disbanded punk rock group and a failed folk music experiment. The band consists of four core members: frontman and lyricist “Dirty” Dan O’Connor, lead guitarist and vocalist Kara “The Razor” Nielson, bassist “Ace” McHale, and drummer Pete “The Beast” D’Amico. Disgusting Stocking carries the torch of rebellion and outrage from their punk roots while blending in the emotional rawness and storytelling of folk music.

Their journey started with a raucous basement jam that led to the creation of their first song, “Rotten Wool”. The neighbors hated them, but the local underground music scene loved them. Their brutally honest lyrics, combined with their intense performances, quickly garnered attention. Disgusting Stocking rose from playing in grimy basements to renowned nightclubs, eventually landing a deal with an indie record label. Their meteoric rise hasn’t changed them though, they’re still the same raw, passionate misfits that people fell in love with.

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1: G-Em-C-D)
G Em
In the heart of the city, dressed in Rotten Wool,
C D
We scream, we shout, with bellies full.

Our voices echo, in the dead of night,
C D
Underneath the street lights, in the pale moonlight.

(Chorus: C-G-D-Em)
C G D Em
We’re the Disgusting Stocking, hear our call,
C G D Em
We won’t back down, we won’t ever fall.

(Verse 2: G-Em-C-D)
G Em
With a guitar in our hands, and fire in our souls,
C D
We’re painting the town, with our punk rock scrolls.

We sing for the lost, the wild, the free,
C D
In our Rotten Wool, we find our decree.

(Chorus: C-G-D-Em)
C G D Em
We’re the Disgusting Stocking, hear our call,
C G D Em
We won’t back down, we won’t ever fall.
