Meager Office

Backstory:

Meager Office began as a group of disenchanted office workers from a small tech firm in San Francisco. What started as a means to blow off steam after grueling workdays soon transformed into a passion project as they discovered their shared love for music. Each member brought a unique style and technique, forming a harmonious amalgamation of music that transcends standard genre definitions. Despite the strain of maintaining their day jobs, they used every scrap of free time to craft their sound and write songs that reflect their personal experiences.

The group found significant success after performing at a local open mic night, after which they began to garner a local following. They subsequently managed to get a gig at the prestigious SXSW festival, where their set was met with critical acclaim. They finally quit their tech jobs, dedicating themselves wholly to the band, and haven’t looked back since. Their love for their former office work still resonates within their songs, encapsulating the raw emotions and experiences from that time.

Title:

“Staple Hearts”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1: Am, G, F, C)
In this meager office light, we’re counting time (Am, G)
Paper thin dreams take flight, in lines of rhyme (F, C)
Sticky notes and coffee stains, a symphony (Am, G)
Ink flows like blood in veins, in this sea of IP (F, C)

(Chorus: Dm, Am, G, C)
Staple hearts and paper planes, we’re more than drones (Dm, Am)
In this fluorescent world, we’ve found our tones (G, C)
We may be meager, but we sing, we’re not alone (Dm, Am)
In this office, we found our thrones (G, C)

(Verse 2: Am, G, F, C)
Drawing dreams in spreadsheets, we’re breaking free (Am, G)
In the rhythm of keystrokes, we find our glee (F, C)
Tangled in the Ethernet, we find our sound (Am, G)
In the hum of servers, our voices resound (F, C)

(Chorus: Dm, Am, G, C)
Staple hearts and paper planes, we’re more than drones (Dm, Am)
In this fluorescent world, we’ve found our tones (G, C)
We may be meager, but we sing, we’re not alone (Dm, Am)
In this office, we found our thrones (G, C)
