Well-Worn Dinner

Backstory:
Well-Worn Dinner is a band that was born out of a chance meeting at a low-key, down-home diner in rural Idaho. The four members, Britney, Alex, Jonas, and David were all strangers, each with a disappointing music career in their past. They wound up at the same diner late one night; Britney and Jonas were employed there, Alex was making a cross-country trip, and David was a regular, drowning his failures in endless cups of coffee. Music brought them together when Britney heard David humming a tune. She started singing along, and before they knew it, the whole diner was clapping along to their impromptu performance. Alex and Jonas joined in, and the chemistry was undeniable. From that night on, they decided to stick together, calling themselves Well-Worn Dinner, as an homage to the place where their journey together began.

Genre:
They are a unique blend of Country and Folk, with a touch of Blues, creating their distinct sound that has been dubbed Rural Pop.

Title:
Their most famous track is “Salt, Pepper, and Melancholy”.

[D] We were both lost, finding [G] solace in despair.

(Chorus)
[G] Salt, Pepper and [C] Melancholy,
[D] Life has a way of turning [G] sweet to salty.
[G] But here in this moment, we found [C] something true,
[D] A melody of hope, ‘neath the [G] sky so blue.

(Verse 2)
[G] In walked a stranger, with a [C] beaten guitar,
[D] Under the weight of dreams, that [G] didn’t go far.
[G] We found our rhythm, under the [C] fluorescent glow,
[D] In the heart of the night, our [G] friendship began to grow.

(Chorus)
[G] Salt, Pepper and [C] Melancholy,
[D] The diner music, was our only [G] folly.
[G] Four lonely hearts, finding [C] a brand new tune,

Fixed Shape

Backstory:
Fixed Shape came together in the vibrant heart of New York City in the early 2000s. The band members, lead vocalist and guitarist Sean Black, drummer Pete Gray, bassist Ricky White, and keyboardist Mike Green, met in a community music workshop and bonded over their shared love for alternative rock and electro-pop. The name ‘Fixed Shape’ arose from a philosophical discussion about the nature of music – as an art form that, despite its fluidity, is encapsulated in a fixed form of chords, melodies, and rhythms. The band members felt that this paradox perfectly represented the essence of their music, which is built on the foundation of classic rock yet is always evolving and experimenting with new sounds.
