Fitting Information

Backstory:
Fitting Information was born out of a college dorm room in 1998 when roommates and music enthusiasts, Dave Kingsley and Ben Rothman, started jamming together on lazy afternoons. Frustrated with the mainstream music scene’s lack of originality and depth, they decided to create music that would challenge the status quo and captivate the hearts of listeners. Male Giraffe

Backstory:

Formed in the heart of Brooklyn in 2010, Male Giraffe is a testament to the eclectic and vibrant spirit of the local music scene. Its founding members, lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Joshua Stern and bassist Ethan Riddle, met at a local open mic night, bonding over a shared appreciation for unconventional music styles. The duo soon recruited the highly skilled drummer, Nina Fortin, and talented lead guitarist, Alec Townsend, completing the quartet. They played at a variety of local venues, honing their unique sound and building a dedicated fanbase before releasing their breakthrough album in 2013.

The name Male Giraffe came from a late-night conversation between Stern and Riddle. After a particularly long jam session, they pondered the giraffe’s long neck, which allows it to feed on the leaves other animals can’t reach, and the band’s desire to reach musical heights yet undiscovered. The ‘Male’ was added for a touch of irony and to honor the band’s original duo.
