Backstory:
Optimal Station was formed in the warm and eclectic music scene of Austin, Texas. The band members all come from diverse musical backgrounds but developed a shared synergy after meeting in a music theory course at the University of Texas. The band consists of lead vocalist and guitarist, Alex Crawford, a classical music student; drummer and backup vocalist, Jenny Hall, a jazz enthusiast; and bassist, Brian Choi, a die-hard fan of blues and rock. After spending innumerable nights jamming in their shared apartment, they eventually began to fuse their distinct styles to create a unique, fresh sound, and thus, Optimal Station was born.
Their band name, Optimal Station, was inspired by their shared apartment which they referred to as their ‘optimal station’. They believed it was the meeting point of their diverse musical paths and the birthplace of their creativity. After debuting in local gigs and music festivals, they quickly gained popularity in the local scene, and their journey eventually led them to sign a record deal.
