Backstory:
Oblong Quality was formed in the bustling city of New York in 2008 by four friends: lead vocalist and guitarist Jack Baskerville, drummer Sam Rutherford, bassist Ethan Cross, and keyboardist Jenny Simmons. They bonded over their shared love of music as college students, regularly jamming in dorm rooms and university campuses. When they graduated, they decided to pursue their passion for music by establishing the band. Oblong Quality quickly gained attention for their skillful blend of rock, indie, and pop influences, their captivating performances, and their thought-provoking lyrical content.
The band’s breakthrough came with the release of their debut album, “Perspectives” in 2011. The album was well received, with critics praising it for its originality and the band’s unique sound. Since then, Oblong Quality has continued to captivate audiences and critics alike, with their music often exploring themes of love, life, and the human experience.
