Backstory:

Upright Poetry hails from the small, artistic town of Boulder, Colorado. With breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains serving as their daily muse, the band formed in 2012, originally as a group of college friends seeking an outlet from their mundane university life. Initially, they were just playing at local bars and delivering heartfelt performances to small but passionate crowds. Word of their contagious energy quickly spread, and they gained a solid reputation for their soul-stirring music. Frontman Jake Thompson, with his talent for penning profound and resonating lyrics, was complemented perfectly by the brilliant instrumentals of Adrian Smith on guitar, Benny Clarke on bass, and Stella Jones on drums. Together, they cultivated a unique sound that continues to captivate audiences.

Their favorite fan is a woman named Mary Sullivan. Mary has been with Upright Poetry from the beginning, attending their very first gig at a local bar in Boulder.
