Backstory:
Genuine Theme found its roots in the heart of New York City in 2010. The band was formed by childhood friends, Jason ‘Jazzy Jay’ Sparks on vocals and guitar, Tommy ‘T-Bone’ Carlson on drums, and Billy ‘Bass-man’ Bronson on bass. Growing up in the culturally rich environment of the Big Apple, the band was influenced by everything from jazz, hip hop, rock, and soul, which they used to craft their unique sound. Their first gig was at a small local bar where they were instantly recognized for their distinct musical style and the raw emotions they conveyed through their lyrics.
