Backstory:
Formed in 2014, Apt Talk is a band that was created on the premise of serendipity. Four college friends, Keith, Max, Lenny, and Dean, found their shared love for music during a late-night jam session in their dorm room. Each member coming from diverse musical backgrounds, they realized that they had a unique sound when blended together. The name ‘Apt Talk’, suggested by Dean, stems from their belief in the powerful impact of aptly spoken words and the magic of melodies. They began practicing in their garage, playing at small gigs, and slowly gained a local following. Their big break came when they were discovered by a music producer at a local music festival, and they haven’t looked back since.
Genre:
Their music can be described as Indie pop with a dash of alternative rock. They are known for their thought-provoking lyrics and catchy melodies that resonate deeply with their listeners.
Song Title:
“Parallel Lines”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
[G]In this narrow space, [C]between you and I,
[Em]Dreams are woven in [D]starry skies.
[G]We draw parallel lines, [C]that never collide,
[Em]Yet, we’re together, [D]yet we’re tied.
(Chorus)
[G]Parallel lines, [C]in this vast expanse,
[Em]Running together, [D]yet no chance,
[G]Of touching the other, [C]breaking the stance,
[Em]We’re two parallel lines, [D]in this cosmic dance.
(Verse 2)
[G]Under the same sun, [C]under the same moon,
[Em]We echo melodies, [D]to the same tune.
[G]Parallel lines, [C]we’re destined to be,
[Em]In love and sorrow, [D]in mystery.
(Chorus)
[G]Parallel lines, [C]in this grand design,
[Em]Running forever, [D]yet no sign,
[G]Of crossing paths, [C]or intertwine,
[Em]We’re two parallel lines, [D]in the sands of time.
Favorite Fan:
Their favorite fan is Jessica Smith, a music teacher from their hometown. Jessica’s testimonial: “I have seen Apt Talk grow from a college band to a sensational music group. Their music resonates with the youth and carries a deep meaning. Their song ‘Parallel Lines’, particularly, speaks volumes about the complicated relationships in today’s world. It’s a metaphor for individuals living together yet apart in their own experiences. It’s thought-provoking and beautiful. They are my favorite because they are not just creating music, they are creating an experience, making their listeners think and feel deeply.”
