Worthless Spring

Backstory:

Worthless Spring came together in the heart of Kansas in 2006, named after the harsh, barren spring season that year. The founding members were high school friends, Brendan “Eagle” Thomas and Jonah “Whale” Collins. They started off as a garage band, playing for coffee shops and small-town festivals, making their name known in the local music scene. Their big break came in 2009 when they were invited to play at the renowned Kansas City Jazz Festival, earning them a record deal that led to their first album.

Genre:

Worthless Spring’s sound is best described as fusion folk rock, blending elements of traditional folk melodies with classic rock riffs and introspective lyrics. Their songs often reflect their Midwest upbringing, exploring themes of heartbreak, hope, and the beauty of simplicity.

Title:

“Shadows of the Grain”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse)
[G] Out here in the fields, under the [D] golden skies,
[Em] In the heart of the prairies where my [C] home lies.
[G] The wind whispers stories of love and [D] pain,
[Em] I’m just a shadow amidst the [C] grain.

(Chorus)
[D] Shadows of the grain, [G] life’s sweet refrain,
[Em] Memories etched, like [C] footprints in the rain.
[D] A song for every dawn, a [G] prayer for every night,
[Em] In the heartland, under the [C] moon’s soft light.

(Verse)
[G] The summer sun sets, as the [D] fireflies dance,
[Em] Free as the wind, caught in a [C] trance.
[G] The silence of the night, the [D] lone coyote’s strain,
[Em] I’m just a shadow amidst the [C] grain.

(Chorus)
[D] Shadows of the grain, [G] echoing our name,
[Em] Carving out our journey, in this [C] endless frame.
[D] A tale of love and loss, of [G] joy and strife,
[Em] This is our story, this is our [C] life.

(Outro)
[G] As dawn breaks over the [D] open plain,
[Em] I’m a silhouette, a shadow of the [C] grain.
[G] The sun warms the earth, [D] erasing the night’s stain,
[Em] I’m just a shadow, a shadow of the [C] grain.
