Soupy Turn

Backstory:
Hailing from the unlikely locale of Des Moines, Iowa, Soupy Turn emerged onto the music scene in the summer of 2012. The band was initially formed by childhood friends Ronnie Baker (bass and vocals) and Sal “Soup” Mancini (lead guitar and vocals). The duo, both in their early twenties, spent their formative years playing local gigs and writing songs that they hoped would one day make it big. They were later joined by drummer Micky “Turn” Turner and keyboardist Jenny Coleman, thus completing the line-up and giving birth to the definitive sound of Soupy Turn. Their journey from local musicians to a well-known band was filled with countless late-night jam sessions, bar gigs, and continuous refining of their unique sound.

Genre: Alternative Rock with a touch of blues

Title: “Silhouettes in the Rain”

Full song lyrics:

[Verse 1] (Em, G, D, C)
Em G D C
Walking down the alleyways, under city lights,
Em G D C
Life’s a twisted melody, hiding in the night.
Em G D C
Look for signs of sanity, buried in the fray,
Em G D C
The music in the silence, leads me astray.

[Chorus] (G, D, Em, C)
G D Em C
Silhouettes in the rain, dancing in my mind,
G D Em C
Playing out the memories, we’ve left behind.
G D Em C
Lost in time’s cruel game, drowning in the pain,
G D Em C
But the song remains the same, in silhouettes in the rain.

[Verse 2] (repeat chords from verse 1)
The echo of your laughter, haunts my dreams,
The taste of your sweet kisses, fades in the stream.
Our love was like a raging storm, wild and free,
But now it’s just a whisper, lost in the breeze.

[Repeat Chorus]

[Outro] (Em, D, C)
Em D C
In the silhouettes, we find our home,
Em D C
In the echoes of love, in the songs we’ve known.
