Frightened Output

Backstory:

Frightened Output’s formation is a story wrapped in mystery, intrigue, and sheer creativity. The band’s four members – vocalist and lead guitarist, Rocky, bassist and backing vocalist, Jeff, drummer, Carlos, and keyboardist, Lisa – were working together in a Silicon Valley tech start-up when they discovered their shared passion for music. After a prolonged period of after-hours jamming sessions in the office’s basement, the group decided to swap their tech careers for a shot at stardom. They dubbed their band “Frightened Output,” a cheeky nod to their programmer past and their relation to the sheer power of their music.

In no time, the band started gaining popularity in the local music scene. Their unique sound, a blend of hard-hitting lyrics and electrifying guitar riffs, resonated with the audience. Despite their rapid ascent, Frightened Output remains grounded, often joking that they’ve simply traded one form of coding for another – this time, it’s the code of music.

Adorable Furniture

Backstory:
The Adorable Furniture, a unique band name birthed from the members’ passion for vintage furniture and the belief in the power of the ordinary to create something extraordinary, first saw the light in the small town of Asheville, North Carolina. The founding members, high school buddies, Eliot Hodges (lead vocals) and Albert ‘Al’ Reed (drummer), began creating music in Eliot’s dad’s old furniture workshop. As they were surrounded by the charm and beauty of antique furniture, they decided to name their band Adorable Furniture, a representation of their exceptional taste in music, just like the furniture’s exquisite craftsmanship.

After a few local performances, their talent was noticed by bassist, Debbie Marshal, who was looking for a fresh sound and found it in Adorable Furniture. She introduced them to her cousin, Peter Marshal, a gifted guitarist, and the quartet was formed. Their common love for old furniture, music, and the fusion of interesting sounds helped them create a unique style that made them stand out on Asheville’s music scene.

Discrete Mortgage

Backstory:

Discrete Mortgage was born from the rubble of seemingly disparate paths. The band members, all ex-bankers and mortgage brokers, found solace in each other’s company during the global financial crisis in 2008. As they began to question their career choices, they found a common thread running through their hearts – music. Lead singer, Alan (former Risk Analyst), guitarist, Brian (Ex-Mortgage Broker), bassist, Derek (previously a Credit Derivatives Specialist), and drummer, Eddie (ex-Quantitative Analyst), decided to quit the financial sector and form the band which they humorously named, Discrete Mortgage.

Their music journey started in Alan’s garage, where they would unwind after work and jam into the early hours. Be it the frustration from their jobs or the common love for music, their bond grew stronger and so did their music. They found solace in creating melodies that echoed their sentiments and resonated with people who found themselves in similar predicaments. Their lyrics often reflected their past, their dreams, and their longing for a simpler life.
