Backstory:
Upset Wonder is a band that emerged from the eclectic and vibrant music scene of Austin, Texas in 2013. The members, lead vocalist and guitarist Alex “Torch” Turner, drummer Jamie “Hawk” Hawkins, bassist Liz “Phoenix” Williams, and keyboardist Mike “Mako” Miller, met as students at the University of Texas, each drawn to the other’s unique sound during a campus-wide music festival. Their chemistry was instant, and they started playing gigs at local bars, quickly garnering a dedicated fan base. After several years of honing their craft, their first break came in 2017 when their self-produced EP caught the attention of indie record label, Mossy Rock Records, leading to their first album release “Stargaze Dystopia” in 2018.
