Backstory:
Positive Rule is a group of childhood friends who hail from the lively streets of Brooklyn, New York. The band was formed in 2010 when its members, lead vocalist Jack Thompson, guitarist Tony Bell, bassist Scott Nelson, and drummer Keith Smith, decided to channel their shared love for music into something tangible. Drawing inspiration from their daily experiences, struggles, victories, and the vibrant life of Brooklyn, they started writing songs that soon resonated well beyond their neighborhood.
With time, Positive Rule’s music evolved, mirroring the members’ growth as individuals. Their songs, once filled with teenage angst, gradually matured into beautiful melodic narratives about life, love, dreams, and the pursuit of happiness. Their journey hasn’t been smooth sailing; they’ve had their fair share of failures and disagreements. But their unwavering resolve, encapsulated in their band’s name, and their deep bond, have seen them through every storm.
Genre:
Positive Rule’s sound is a flavorful mix of Indie Rock and Pop with a hint of Folk.
