Backstory:
“Exalted Collar” was formed in 2007 in the eclectic city of Austin, Texas. It began as a collaboration between childhood friends turned musicians, Henry Lyle (lead vocals, rhythm guitar) and Alex Reid (drums). Both shared a vision of creating music that was authentic, heartfelt yet energetic. After a year of jamming in their garage, they were joined by bassist, Sami Khan, and lead guitarist, Oliver Watson. The four became inseparable, resulting in a unique bond that reflected in their music. Their shared passion and creativity led them to produce songs that were as diverse as their influences, which ranged from classic rock legends to modern day indie bands.
The band had a slow start but they eventually gained local recognition after performing numerous gigs in Austin’s vibrant music scene. They went from playing in dingy bars to some of the city’s most renowned music festivals. In 2010, Exalted Collar released their first self-titled album which received rave reviews. Their honest lyrics, combined with an invigorating mix of rock and indie rhythms, quickly positioned them as a notable force within the music industry.

The band’s favorite fan is named Ella Johnson. Ella, a sketch artist, discovered Exalted Collar during a difficult period in her life. Their music and lyrics, especially the song “One Silent Whisper”, resonated deeply with her and helped her process her emotions. As a tribute, she started creating sketches inspired by their lyrics and sharing them online. The band noticed her work and appreciated her unique way of engaging with their music.
