Backstory:

Candid Fowl was born in the heart of London in the smoky corners of a small pub in 2006, when two college buddies, bassist David “Ducky” Henderson and guitarist Paul “Pigeon” Nelson, found a mutual love for rock fused with folk. They were later joined by drummer Hayley “Hawk” Richards and keyboardist Tom “Toucan” Mitchell. The name ‘Candid Fowl’ was a tongue in cheek nod to their bird-themed nicknames and their honest, straightforward approach to their music.

Their journey was anything but smooth, as they juggled day jobs and late-night gigs, but these challenges only strengthened their bond and shaped their music. The turning point came in 2010 when their breakout hit, ‘As the Crow Flies’, gained significant airplay across Britain, leading to a record deal and catapulting them to national fame. Their music, known for its meaningful lyrics, catchy melodies, and unique blend of rock and folk, has since become a staple of British music.
