Backstory:
Awkward Chair, an indie-folk band hailing from the heartland of the US, was formed in 2012. The band consists of four members: John ‘Jumbo’ Moore (vocals and guitar), Sarah ‘Red’ Mitchell (violin and backing vocals), Tom ‘Buzz’ Harrison (bass), and Aaron ‘Ace’ Cook (drums). The four met at a local open-mic night in their hometown of Wichita, Kansas, and swiftly bonded over a shared love of music and a collective quirkiness that endeared them to each other. The name ‘Awkward Chair’ came to be when they found a peculiarly shaped chair in the garage where they first started rehearsing. It quickly became their lucky charm and inspired their band name.
