Backstory:
Born and bred in the gritty streets of Brooklyn, Gentle Victim started as a trio of college friends in 2013 who shared a common passion for music. Elijah “Eli” Baker, Samuel “Sammy” Richards, and Daniel “Danny” Watson were studying in different faculties but found a common thread in their love for music. Eli was the lead vocalist with a commanding presence and a voice that could melt hearts. Sammy, a proficient drummer, brought in the strong, rhythmic backbone that the band needed. Danny, their lead guitarist and backup vocalist, had an uncanny ability to weave intricate guitar chords into the fabric of their music. The band members started jamming in their college’s music room and gradually, their music spilled over into the bustling streets of Brooklyn, earning them a cult following of dedicated fans.

Title: “Shadows of the Past”
Full Song Lyrics:
[Intro: Dm – Bb – F – C]
(Verse 1)
[Dm]Walking down this lonely road, [Bb]Mind filled with thoughts untold,
[F]Memories flood back to me, [C]Shadows of the past I see.
[Dm]Fights and laughter, joy and pain, [Bb]Lost in the pouring rain,
[F]Gentle whispers in the breeze, [C]Reminding me of past ease.
(Chorus)
[Gm]Shadows of the past, oh [F]how long will they last,
[C]Haunting me in my sleep, [Dm]Memories I’m forced to keep.
[Gm]Chasing dreams that I’ve lost, [F]Paid such an awful cost,
[C]Shadows of the past, [Dm]You’re fading so fast.
(Verse 2)
[Dm]The road is worn, but still I tread, [Bb]Through the past and fear I dread,
[F]How I wish to break these chains, [C]Shake off all these haunting stains.
[Dm]Gentle Victim is my name, [Bb]Lost in this torturous game,
[F]Fiery hope is my last bet, [C]A future I won’t let you forget.
