Dimpled Capability
The story
Formed in the heart of Minneapolis in 2017, Dimpled Capability was born from the friendship of vocalist/guitarist Serena Hayes and keyboardist Theo Lin, who bonded over a mutual love of obscure indie records and crisp winter afternoons. What began as jam sessions in Theo’s cluttered attic quickly evolved into a full-fledged band when bassist Jamie Cruz and drummer Riley Stone joined after a late-night open mic. Naming themselves 'Dimpled Capability' as a nod to their belief in embracing imperfections, the quartet soon developed a signature sound blending punchy rhythms and introspective storytelling.
Their debut EP, "Pavement Dreams", caught the attention of local college radio, earning them a devoted Minneapolis fanbase. Renowned for their energetic live shows and playful stage banter, Dimpled Capability has since toured the Midwest, packing intimate venues and cultivating a tight-knit community of music-lovers drawn to their authentic, hopeful lyricism.

"I first heard Dimpled Capability at a tiny venue off Hennepin Avenue when I was going through a rough patch. Their song 'Sidewalk Stardust' made me feel seen in a way no band ever had. Serena’s voice and the band’s lyrics remind me it’s okay to be a work-in-progress. I’ve been to every Minneapolis show since, and they always take time to hang out with fans like we’re old friends. Dimpled Capability isn’t just my favorite band—they’re the soundtrack to my life’s best and hardest moments."
