Mean Education

Backstory:
Formed in the grimy basement of a forgotten high school in Birmingham, Alabama, Mean Education is the brainchild of four former teachers whose shared love for music transcended the confines of the classroom. The burgeoning rock group includes lead vocalist and guitarist, Jake “Detention” Matthews, a once-mild-mannered science teacher who found his voice through music. Sharing the stage with him are drummer, Sarah “Suspension” Jones, a former gym teacher with a knack for rhythm, bassist, Ben “Homework” Davis, a math teacher who solves complex equations with his bass lines, and keyboardist, Lisa “Librarian” Smith, a literature teacher who adds a poetic touch to their lyrics.

The band’s formation was as spontaneous as a chemistry experiment gone awry. When the school’s annual talent show needed a last-minute act, the four teachers quickly banded together to perform. Their electrifying performance stole the show, and Mean Education was born. From that day forward, they traded in their textbooks for guitars and drumsticks, aiming to educate the world through their music.
