Backstory:
Dual Plough began as a collaboration between two longtime musicians, Jack Kavanagh and Ethan Bennett, in the vibrant music scene of Nashville, Tennessee. Jack, a talented guitarist, and Ethan, a gifted vocalist and pianist, met at a local jam session and quickly realized their shared passion for creating deeply emotional and thought-provoking music. The duo first garnered attention with their soulful lyrics and rich harmonies, creating a unique sound that seamlessly blends modern and traditional elements.
The band’s name, Dual Plough, is a nod to their working-class roots and the deeply ingrained work ethic that propels their music. Both Jack and Ethan come from farming backgrounds, and they see their musical journey as a similar process to ploughing a field – putting in the hard work and dedication to eventually reap the rewards.

Title: “Fields of Yesterday”
Full song lyrics:
(Verse 1)
[G] Look at those fields, [Am] once green and gold
[C] Now they’re just echoes, [D] of stories we told
[G] A memory of you, [Am] under the summer sun
[C] Those days are gone, [D] but not forgotten.
(Chorus)
[G] In the fields of yesterday, [D] we found our way
[Em] Love was the seed, [C] growing in the clay
[G] But time took its toll, [D] you went astray
[Em] Now I walk alone, [C] in the fields of yesterday.
(Verse 2)
[G] The old oak tree, [Am] where we carved our names
[C] Stands as a monument, [D] to love’s fleeting games
[G] The whispers of the wind, [Am] seem to say
[C] “Come back home, [D] to the fields of yesterday.”
(Chorus)
[G] In the fields of yesterday, [D] we let love play
[Em] Our hearts were wild, [C] and we lost our way
[G] I yearn for you, [D] but you’re shades of grey
[Em] Now I walk alone, [C] in the fields of yesterday.
