Deficient Motive

Backstory:

Deficient Motive was born out of the smoky haze of a basement in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Three childhood friends – Sam, Joe, and Alex, bonded over their shared love of music and their shared feeling of being outcasts in their small town. The band was formed as a way to express their disillusionment with the world around them, while also giving them a creative outlet to channel their frustrations. Sam, on vocals and guitar, was the one who initiated the group. Joe, the quiet powerhouse on drums, supported Sam, while Alex, the introspective and moody bassist, added depth to the group. Years of underground gigs, late-night jam sessions, and relentless touring eventually led to a record deal, and Deficient Motive began to gain traction in the indie rock scene.

Indie Rock.

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
[Em] Gazing at the [G] stars up high, [D] through the city’s [A] false light sky

[Em] Trapped in dreams we [G] cannot chase, [D] Silhouettes in a [A] neon haze

[C] We’re just lost and [G] broken souls, [D] Trying to find our [A] way back home
[C] Shards of hope in [G] shattered glass, [D] Echoes of our [A] fading past

(Verse 2)
[Em] Shadows playing on [G] the wall, [D] While the world [A] outside falls
[Em] We’re just rebels [G] without a cause, [D] Victims of life’s [A] endless pause
[Em] Lost in thoughts we [G] cannot phrase, [D] Silhouettes in a [A] neon haze

(Chorus)
[C] We’re just lost and [G] broken souls, [D] Trying to find our [A] way back home
[C] Shards of hope in [G] shattered glass, [D] Echoes of our [A] fading past

[Em] Gazing at the [G] stars up high, [D] We’re just silhouettes [A] in neon light
