Frilly Stage

Backstory:

Frilly Stage came to life on a rainy afternoon in New York City when four friends, all working in different fields, decided to bring their shared passion for music into the spotlight. Lead vocalist and primary songwriter, Jade Calhoun, was working as a barista in a local cafe during the day and performing at local open mics at night when she met drummer, Oscar Thompson, a part-time record studio technician. They soon befriended Mia Salas, a music teacher and gifted guitar player, and Zachary Scott, a charismatic bassist who was moonlighting at a jazz club. Sharing a love for eclectic music styles, they fused their unique talents and influences to create Frilly Stage, an embodiment of their shared dream.

The name ‘Frilly Stage’ was born out of their collective belief that music and life should never be straightforward or monotonous, but rather be filled with frills, unexpected turns, and flamboyant surprises. Despite their individual commitments, they knew they owed it to themselves and their love for music to create something meaningful. They began to rehearse in their apartments and backyards, turning their ordinary lives into a vibrant musical journey.
