Backstory:

Rotten Characteristic was formed in the summer of 2005 in the bustling music scene of Seattle, Washington. Consisting of four childhood friends – vocalist and guitarist Sam Frazier, bassist Jake Willoughby, drummer Luke “Rusty” Russel, and keyboardist Kate Henderson – the band derived their unique name from a joke during a heated game of Scrabble. Starting out playing at local bars and clubs, the group steadily gained a loyal fanbase due to their raw energy, unique sound, and engaging stage presence.

In 2007, their viral online track garnered the attention of independent music labels and eventually signed with UnderGround Records. Rotten Characteristic released their debut album “Bitter Sweet Symphony” in 2008, which broke into the Billboard top 50 charts. Their eclectic blend of music and well-crafted lyrics resonated with audiences, leading to sell-out shows and a growing fan base.
