Backstory:
“Shady Fruit” is a band that came together in the bustling city of Austin, Texas in 2009. It began when lead vocalist and bassist, Jack Steele, met drummer, Emma Roberts, at a local open-mic night. Sparks flew as they discovered their mutual love for music that incorporates mood, storytelling, and a hint of darkness. Soon after, they were joined by genius guitarist, Tim O’Brian, completing the charismatic trio. They started out playing in small bars and clubs, honing their unique sound and gaining a local following. Their breakthrough came when a major record label scout saw them perform at the South by Southwest Festival; they’ve been captivating audiences worldwide ever since.
