Backstory:
Unused Brush wasn’t an overnight sensation. The band was formed in a dusty attic in Santa Fe, New Mexico during a summer in the early 2000s. A group of four friends- Dolan, Kyle, Rick, and Larry, discovered a shared love for music while cleaning out Dolan’s grandmother’s attic. Surrounded by an eclectic mix of vintage instruments and ‘70s records, they got inspired and jammed together for the first time. It was the birth of an unbreakable bond and a musical journey that would eventually take them to the world stage.
Over the years, Unused Brush has weathered the ups and downs of the music industry, sticking together through thick and thin. They’ve always remained true to their roots, crafting music that reflected their lives, their dreams, and their struggles. Despite the rise of digital music and the fall of traditional album sales, Unused Brush has managed to carve out a loyal fan base that appreciates their authentic storytelling and raw musical talent.

Title:
“Swept Away”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
C G D
Lost in the echoes of time, we sway
Em C G D
Like an unused brush, we fray
C G D
Caught in the whispers of days, we play
Em C G D
With colors unseen, in shades of gray
(Chorus)
Em C G D
We are swept away, in the wind
Em C G D
Dancing with the ghosts of our sin
Em C G D
We are swept away, like dust in the rain
Em C G D
Lost and found, in the echoes of pain
(Verse 2)
C G D
In the corners of the attic, we hide
Em C G D
Gathering dust, side by side
C G D
In the shadows of our past, we slide
Em C G D
Painting dreams, on the canvas wide
(Chorus)
Em C G D
We are swept away, in the wind
Em C G D
Dancing with the ghosts of our sin
Em C G D
We are swept away, like dust in the rain
Em C G D
Lost and found, in the echoes of pain

“I’ve been a fan of Unused Brush since their early years. Their music is like a healing touch to me. Their raw energy, lyrical poetry, and unique sound make them an unparalleled band in the Indie Folk Rock scene. “Swept Away” in particular is a song that has helped me through some of the toughest times in my life. It reminds me that in the vast canvas of life, we are just small strokes, continuously changing, evolving, and being swept away by time. I find a profound comfort in their music, in the way it makes me feel connected to something bigger than myself. They’re more than just a band to me; they’re like old friends sharing their journey with me.”
