Backstory:
Shocking Mummy originated in the narrow alleyways of Cincinnati, Ohio, where four art students decided to meld their creative talents and form a band. The members are frontman and synth magician, Zack “Zapper” Phillips, guitarist extraordinaire, Kiera “Keeks” Owens, bass virtuoso, Jared “Pharaoh” Eastwood, and percussive maestro, Emily “Em” Sanders. They based their name on a viral video of a man getting surprised by a pop-up mummy at a local Halloween exhibit, which they found hilarious. According to them, the name represents the unpredictable and spontaneous nature of their music which they take pride in.

The band was a hit at local bars and coffee shops, rapidly gaining a strong fanbase with their quirky songs and electrifying performances. Their breakthrough came as they won the Battle of the Bands at a local music festival. Their victory led to a record deal, launching them into the world of professional music.
