Backstory:
Bumpy Theft was formed in the vibrant heart of Brooklyn in 2012. Three childhood friends – James “J.D” Donovan on vocals and rhythm guitar, Michael “Mickey” Rivers on lead guitar, and Tommy “T-Bone” O’Brien on drums – had spent countless hours in their garage, honing their sound and dreaming of making it big. All three worked in various jobs; Donovan was a bartender, Rivers a mechanic, and O’Brien a school teacher. They had a shared love for the gritty, hard-hitting rock and blues sounds of the 70s, and they used it as a springboard for creating their distinct sound.

Charismatic, hard-working, and musically talented, Bumpy Theft quickly climbed the ladder of the local music scene. Their energetic performances, soulful lyrics, and raw, unfiltered sound earned them a strong following, finally culminating in their debut album in 2015, which was lauded by critics for its authentic, no-nonsense approach to rock music.

The band’s favorite fan is Linda Meyers. A Brooklyn native herself, Linda has been following Bumpy Theft since their garage band days.
